ALS 780 — Reverse Osmosis Membrane Cleaner

When Do Membranes Need Cleaning?
No matter how good the antiscalant is, a membrane gradually accumulates a layer of scale, organic matter and biological growth over time. The well-known indicators are: a drop in production rate, a rise in differential pressure across the pressure vessels, and a decline in salt rejection. The practical rule is to clean when any of these shifts by 10–15% from the initial operating values.
ALS 780 is a special cleaning formulation of our own production. It dissolves deposits, loosens their bond to the membrane surface and flushes them out with the cleaning solution — without harming the membrane’s active layer itself.
Cleaning on time saves you the cost of new membranes. Late cleaning — after deposits have hardened into a solid layer — is often ineffective.

Signs That Cleaning Is Due
Coverage & Method of Use
One 4 L container is enough for one 8040 membrane or three 4040 membranes. The cleaning solution is prepared with chlorine-free permeate water and circulated through the pressure vessels using the clean-in-place (CIP) unit, with soaking periods in between; the membranes are then thoroughly flushed before returning to service.
Schedule periodic cleaning instead of waiting for a breakdown. We can help you set the right cleaning schedule for your plant based on water type and recovery ratio.
Packaging & Supply
ALS 780 is supplied in 4 L containers and is available in quantities suited to plants with multiple pressure vessels. It is usually ordered together with the other operating chemicals in a single shipment.
